Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion should only be allowed if it's necessary to save the life of the mother.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We must maintain a strong alliance with peaceful and democratic nations, especially Israel, while imposing sanctions on countries that harbor terrorists or promote terrorism. Additionally we must have strong, secure borders, and we must carefully vet all who seek to enter our country for any reason, while maintaining the prerogative to disallow entry to those we cannot vet. or who come from a hostile regime.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Mankind is inherently susceptible to the corrupting influence of power. We must restore civic virtue in government, particularly we must reinstate term limits, which were part of our first Constitution, to reverse the accumulation of power by politicians/government and restore it to the People.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a devout Christian, and my faith is at the core of who I am; I am a Christian, a patriot, and proud Republican - in that order.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

By offering maximum choice and flexibility to both health insurers and health care consumers, while preserving the social safety net for those who cannot provide coverage for themselves. We should allow consumers to purchase insurance across state lines, and we must bring down the cost of insurance by maximizing competition among insurers.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Government should eliminate barriers to entrepreneurship and business ownership, specifically tax and regulatory hurdles. We should return a policy of Economic Patriotism that puts America first rather than blindly entering into "free trade" deals with communistic, slave-wage dictatorships.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

We should continue to lower the corporate tax burden, and simplify the code by eliminating loopholes and and shelters, and structure the code such that it in every way possible encourages work, investment, and ownership.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

We must remove the perverse incentive for able-bodied individuals to collect unemployment benefits. We must also expand our job base by bringing home the thousands of factories and millions of good-paying jobs that have been shipped overseas thanks to lopsided, so-called "free trade" deals.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Eliminate the $200 billion in annual wasteful spending and reallocate those dollars to the solvency of Social Security so that we can keep our promise to those who've paid into the system their entire lives.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Perhaps nothing has better prepared me than 39 years of faithful marriage to my spouse, Paula Spoede Halvorson, and raising six children together. I've also been served well by a 29-year career in the military, which began as a search-and-rescue pilot and culminated in a leadership role in helping to stand up the Department of Homeland Security with Tom Ridge in the wake of the 9-11 Terror Attack. I've been responsible for the lives of fellow Americans, large budgets of taxpayer dollars, and the security of our country. I've also succeeded in the business sector with a commercial real estate business that spans the East Coast.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am imposing upon myself a limit of three terms (six years) to ensure that I will remain true to my values rather than get ensnared by the trappings of Washington, D.C. and the temptation to appease lobbyists. I have also signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge to never vote for a tax increase.
