Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I oppose abortion at any stage and would encourage a woman who is a victim of rape to carry her baby to term. But as a matter of law, I would support exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother in exchange for stricter limits on the availability of abortion on demand. I will vote for measures that reduce abortions.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

First, we must call it by its name, as you have -- radical Islamic terrorism. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but most terrorists are Muslim. Therefore we must be vigilant and not intimidated by "political correctness". Common sense vetting for Muslims wanting to visit the US, do business in the US, or immigrate to the United States is appropriate, especially if they come from countries which sponsor terrorism. I know many wonderful Muslims, and I believe we can benefit from their contributions to our melting pot here in the USA. Moderate Muslims can help contain the radical Muslims, and we should encourage this. There is hope if we remain vigilant.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Greed and the lust for power. As Lord Acton observed, "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts, absolutely."

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

The Apostles' Creed describes my Christian faith: I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. My values flow from the foundational belief that God is uniquely revealed through Christ and that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; that His grace and love can flow through me if I allow His Holy Spirit to rule and reign in my life.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Here are 4 priorities: 1. Limit size and scope of government so free markets can thrive and generate more high paying jobs and increase prosperity. I am a limited government advocate because I believe in personal liberty and prosperity for all Americans, especially the less fortunate. A growing economy, made possible when government is limited, generates the jobs needed to lift people out of poverty. 2. Restore fiscal responsibility by ending runaway spending and debt. Runaway spending and record debt continue with no end in sight. It’s just plain wrong to pile up debt which results in diminished opportunity for our children and future generations. 3. Constitutional Freedoms -- Whether it is our First, Second, or Tenth Amendment rights, I will be a consistent defender of our Constitutional Freedoms. 4. Peace through strength.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Scrap expensive, failed Obamacare so consumers can finally enjoy lower healthcare premiums. Free market competition and fewer special considerations for big insurance companies can yield better results for consumers

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Limit its scope and reach. Free markets boost the economy, not the government.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

A broad based, relatively flat tax system is best for economic growth and prosperity. I believe a simpler, flatter, and more fair tax code is possible and necessary for maximum economic productivity.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

1. Stop paying able bodied adults not to work. Work requirements for welfare recipients helps everyone. 2. Discourage illegal immigration so wages rise. 3. Encourage vocational training for better workforce preparedness. 4. Reduce job-killing regulations, including Obamacare. 5. Eliminate the minimum wage so the bottom rung of the economic ladder is more easily reached by those who want to get started on their climb to economic success.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

By recognizing the demographic trends that undermine sustained benefits for future generations and encouraging benefit-saving changes.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I graduated from Pepperdine University where I studied economics, international affairs, political science, and business. 30 years as a business builder in the private sector help me understand how the "real world" functions in the face of sometimes overbearing regulations. I grew up on a 100 acre dairy farm where I learned the law of the farm which is that (a) we reap what we sow, and (b) success comes not from sudden, sporadic bursts of activity but through the cumulative effect of disciplined, daily effort.

E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you:

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

Taxpayer Protection Pledge -- I signed it because the only way to limit government is to limit how much of our hard earned money the government takes.
