Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Abortion is a medical procedure that should be legalized and regulated for both the safety of the woman and the medical practitioners. Making it unlawful doesn't make abortions go away it makes safe abortions go away. Secondly the argument stems from a religious belief that life begins at conception. Scientifically speaking that is simply not the case. Finally to legislate other peoples ability to decide what to do with their own body violates their body autonomy and relegates all women to second class citizens. If you truly want there to be less abortions in the United States of America, less teen pregnancies, and unwanted births, contraceptives need to be as readily available and covered under health insurance policies as Viagra and other erectile dysfunction medications are for impotent men. Pregnancy the pregnancy in the first place precludes the need to abort it. Improving sexual health education would be another major step in unwanted pregnancies.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Radical Islamic Terrorism is a buzz word to justify the war in the Middle East. More terrorist activities have been at the hands of White, Christian, Ultra Nationalists in the United States than from any organization Radical Islamic or not. As far as eliminating the civil unrest in the region an immediate weapons trade embargo to all nations in the Middle East would take 100's of billions of dollars of arms and ammunition out of those countries and out of the hands of the terrorists. Enforcing those embargo's with further economic sanctions for violations will further ensure that the extremists are denied their weapons and resources to commit acts of terror and sabotage.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Human beings are at their core compassionate, however they are also corruptible. Since these truths are self evident and repeated throughout history the Constitution sought to strike a balance between the good and baser natures of humanity. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Therefore to legislate and lead a diverse nation of many it is necessary that the powers are divided and no one entity can control the entire nation alone.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that as far as a higher power is concerned they have granted us the tools and resources to create a heaven on Earth. War, famine and disease have plagued humanity for countless millennia but now with our technology and our understanding of history we could eradicate suffering. It prevails, not because God is cruel, or isn't giving His children the answer to their prayers, but that we as God's children do not use His gifts and knowledge to do good. Capitalism has the potential to grant society untold wealth, instead it is designed to ensure a proportion lives in poverty, a portion with meager essential, a portion with some stability, and a small portion with obscene wealth. Profit Sharing, social programs, etc. would allow the average citizen to exponentially increase their standing economically. Jesus Christ's teachings talk about unity, community and compassion. Profit sharing, and Universal Policies would achieve that.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Moderate

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

https://www.ronanforcongress.com/here-to-serve-you - this link will take you to a general overview of my major policy positions. My YouTube channel has additional info. The questions were asked with a Conservative spin. For instance I answered "disagree" to question #1 because scientifically speaking life doesn't begin at conception, but I do believe that human beings deserve to be covered throughout their entire lifetime, not just in the womb. If we fight adamantly for human beings to be developed and born, but not children fed or clothed, young adults with access to health care and education, our fellow citizens access to meaningful employment and access to care, or to treat our elderly with dignity and respect when they can no longer take care of themselves. Then what we are fighting for is Pro Birth not life, because fundamentally our fight ends after the birth. That is our failure as a society to confuse Pro-Life as the same as caring about people living in America.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I outline this heavily in my website, but the short answer is simply to standardize the cost of health care across the United States so no matter where in the country you are your treatment costs the same! Secondly all medical facilities charge a base price for care as well as a multiplier, if we eliminate that multiplier as well we can quite literally cover all medical costs with the federal taxes that go towards Medicare and Medicaid...for all Americans! This may sound to good to be true but the numbers support this thesis. If we had a Citizens health Care policy instead of the private industry it would allow the federal government to regulate costs, as it already regulates quality. We are already paying for our Health Care and Medical expenses through taxes, why should we pay additional fees to a private organization that still doesn't cover our care fully?

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The government should always play the role of being the balance. Too much power in the hands of the employee or the company typically spells disaster. The balance is where government ensures that companies operate ethically and not at the expense of their employees, and that the employees receive their due compensation, benefits, and security they earn by offering their labor. In this way Capitalism is a fantastic economic process because it breeds competition, and allows for massive returns of investment whether that;s profit or labor. However we have never actually applied those possibilities. Implementing profit sharing, and increasing certain benefits: leave, maternity, sick, health care, etc. will ensure that employees are healthy and happy, as well as being compensated for their labor and profits they generate for the company. This in turn allows companies to deal with less turn over and dedicate resources to growth and expansion.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

The current tax bracket rates are acceptable to me, doubling the personal deduction is fantastic as well. The changes that I would make currently are the elimination of all tax loopholes that can only be enjoyed by the wealthy such as tax deductions for jets, or their estates. I don't believe that inheritances should be taxed, however I don't think that it should give an individual a tax break either. If we simply paid the tax rates that we fall under without loopholes, or abusive tax credits we would generate over $400 Billion in annual tax revenue. This is doubly true for Corporate tax rates. I believe those should be a flat tax of 20%, no loopholes, no credits, no deductions. 20% of profits should be taxed by corporations, period. Corporate subsidies cost Americans $1.5 Trillion in taxes, offshore accounts $500 Billion, and the same for tax evasion. Eliminating the exploits solves alot of our fiscal problems.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

We find ourselves in an awkward economy where there are too many people with training and skills, but very little experience. We also have an influx of certain skills and training but a massive gap in others. I propose a School to Work Pipeline that encourages students or others to pursue career-fields that are in demand, whether those are vocations or degree programs, and have guarantees, to include relocation assistance, and job placement. Doing so ensures that the education and training individuals received will be marketable and that they will not have to worry about the daunting prospect of relocation if that was necessary to receive a new job. Furthermore it mitigates the difficulty of job seekers finding new work, with little experience by incentivising employers through this program, to hire new employees to their career-field and offer training to these new hires to get them to the industry standard.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

The irony of this question is that many politicians want to continue ransacking social safety nets to offer tax breaks to the wealthy with the promise that those windfalls will find themselves back to us. I have already discussed the lie of "Trickle Down" in our country and how it has never been instituted to benefit us. That being said the simplest solution would be to remove the cap that people pay into Social Security. I would further pass legislation that makes it illegal for the Federal Government to borrow funds from Social Security or Medicare and any other social program to pay for any other project, that itself isn't social in context. Simply put ransacking Social Security to pay for the war on Terror would no longer be legal and attempts to do so would have grievous consequences for the lawmaker proposing it.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have served 8 years on active duty in duty locations around the world, with international, and diverse teams. I founded a National Non-profit Our Voice USA which in one years time created a candidate directory and phone application to simplify the process of becoming an informed voter. I have received formal education in the armed forces and private universities. However none of that qualifies me more for office than the simple fact that my purpose for running for the US House is I care about my fellow countrymen. My policies are beholden to the American People not private interests and lobbyist donations. I may not have 30 years of legal experience but 435 members of the House and 100 members of the senate do and they have shut down our government twice in as many months, created the largest poverty gap since the Depression, and have created a society that suffers bankruptcy in all areas that would allow them to improve their lives. I intend to change that.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I would like to thank you all for taking the time to consider me as your next Representative. I want you to know whether you support everything I say or do or none of it, my goal is to do what is best for this country and what will make your life better than what it is today. Furthermore consider this: we have the best and the brightest in office, yet they have an approval rating of 11%, the cost of goods have skyrocketed, your health care is unaffordable, and an entire generation in debt because of the broken promise of what they could achieve with a degree. I intend to change that. These men and women with all of their "experience" and "expertise" have brought our nation to it's knees. Perhaps being a "politician" is not the best qualifying factor for a candidate? Perhaps it's who has the best interests of the American People? My entire adult life has been spent in service to my country, that wont stop in DC!
