Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The only time I believe abortion should be CONSIDERED is when the LIFE (not health) of the mother will result in death through the birth of the child. This painful decision between life and death is a personal decision that is the responsibility of the family and the doctors. I would support any decision made by the family. Taking all this into consideration, I've counseled many ladies and young ladies who had abortions, and I've witnessed the toll their decisions had on their lives. So, I believe it is essential to show them the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, rather than pointing out their wrong choices. We must not allow our beliefs against abortion to stop us from loving those who have made decisions with which we disagree.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

In virtually every circumstance, I would suggest using diplomacy first to address threats. However, the term "Radical Islamic Terrorism" assumes we are not dealing with reasonable people, but those who are willing to stop at nothing to destroy America, Americans, American interests, and take away our freedoms. With this premise in place, I would declare the following: Reasoning with mentally and emotionally unstable people is impossible. Terrorists only understand force. Therefore, I would suggest we must do whatever it takes to terminate the lives and resources of an unreasonable enemy of misguided and murderous thugs. The annihilation and disarming of ISIS is an excellent example of what can be done to the enemy BEFORE significant threats reach our shores. We should support any nation that is allied to our position with resources when warranted to disrupt, disarm, and destroy Radical Islamic Terrorists.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Man was created in the image of God. However, following The Fall of Creation in the Garden of Eden, sin entered into the world. Sin leads people to be selfish and requires accountability to God and others to daily overcome our selfishness. While America's Founders may not have penned these exact words, I believe it is reasonable to believe their faith in God led them to develop a system of accountability to protect against the sin nature of man.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I have been a fully-devoted follower of Jesus Christ since I was 16 years old. My life motto for years has been a summary of the Great Commandment to "Love God and Love People." My motto has been more than a mantra though, as I have traveled throughout our city, state, nation, and the world to serve others and show them the love of Jesus firsthand. I have and will continue to, govern my life and decisions by the eternal, unchanging, and infallible Word of God. I make no apologies for the fact that I am a Christian and I have devoted my life to bringing glory to God. My values are biblical values. When there is no specific biblical mandate on a subject, I rely upon the principles in the Bible to guide me. I believe in and practice tithing and giving in my local church, as I have since I was a young boy when my parents taught me to honor God with what I have received and He will take care of whatever I need. (Matthew 6:33)

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I would encourage anyone to speak to any of the people in my 30-year history of pastoring where I loved, served, counseled, and lived life with people of all backgrounds, races, and social classes. While I may disagree with a person's lifestyle choices, I have always extended the love of Christ to everyone. Furthermore, I would suggest the creation and mission of West Coast Bible College & Seminary which I founded in 2006 speaks volumes: To create disciples of Christ, without creating disciples of debt. Speak to our students. We're not perfect, but we've been fortunate to make a global impact as witnessed by the International education Award I received from the UK Accrediting Body, ASIC, this past September for "Outstanding Contribution to International Education."

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I have a viable plan to address healthcare that removes government intervention and allows the private sector to succeed. My plan calls for: 1) The removal of barriers to prohibit insurance companies from competing across state lines. 2) The creation of realistic tort reforms. 3) The protection of consumers and insurance companies against price gouging. 4) Working with insurance companies to develop a less costly type of policy that utilizes telemedicine, urgent care facilitiess, private doctor healthcare memberships, and hospital-only insurance policies. We need less governmental involvement in healthcare and more solutions from the private sector for healthcare to once again become TRULY affordable. Please read the specifics of my plan at

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

NATIONAL DEBT To tackle the national debt, we must lower the federal government spending to somewhere between 15% to 17% of the GDP. To accomplish this, we must consider: 1) Reduce spending off the top in every governmental agency by 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% based on performance. Additionally, all non-essential agencies, based upon repeated historical failures to meet minimal objectives, will be phased out. 2) Discretionary spending must have a firm cap. 3) We must overhaul Social Security while ensuring everyone will receive a return on their governmental investment. 4) We need to reduce entitlements and set benchmarks and timelines for those receiving aid. 5) Keep emphasizing affordable American goods and services. 6) We need to renegotiate NAFTA, not scrap it altogether. 7) Keep interest rates low. 8) Keep taxes low. 9) Renegotiating our national debt with our lenders to reduce the interest paid. Please read the specifics of my plan at

What changes should be made to the tax code?

I'm grateful for the tax changes made by our President and Republican leaders at the end of 2017. However, I am still for SIMPLIFYING the tax code from the 4 million words and thousands of pages to two pages max. I'm in favor of reducing individual and corporate taxes even further, with the elimination of deductions and implementation of a gradual flat tax. However, we must conduct a feasibility study, receiving input from both private and corporate sectors, to determine how this tax would affect the economy to best position the brackets based on the historical analysis. INDIVIDUAL GRADUAL FLAT TAX - 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%, with no deductions. The rates increase with the amount of money an individual makes, giving the lower and middle classes even greater tax relief. CORPORATE FLAT TAX - Corporations all pay the same rate as determined feasible. Simplifying the tax code would remove an unnecessary burden and stress from business owners.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

First off, the policies of President Trump are working to lower the unemployment rate. As President Trump correctly tweeted, "African American unemployment is the lowest ever recorded in our country. The Hispanic unemployment rate dropped a full point in the last year and is close to the lowest in recorded history." So, it's obvious we are heading in the right direction. There are five simple principles proven to work: 1) Protect free market capitalism. 2) Keep interest rates low. 3) Reduce payroll taxes. 4) Reduce the corporate tax rates because it encourages businesses to hire. 5) Implement deregulation where it is reasonable and possible.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

To guarantee Social Security remains viable for future generations requires a few necessarily painful changes to be implemented: 1) Eliminating the early retirement age by 2020. 2) Increasing the age of retirement from 66 to 68 by 2020 for benefits. 3) Reducing the weekly benefits to those in higher-income homes to help ensure those in lower-income homes will not dip beyond poverty level by 2020. 4) Allowing higher income earners to donate a portion of their social security to an "adopted" individual or family. This donation would not be a mandate, but an opportunity. Give people the opportunity to be generous. 5) Our government should consider providing a guaranteed minimum similar to what has been adopted in other first-world countries to keep their lowest-income earners out of the poverty level. Again, a study is needed to determine the exact amount.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have an earned Doctor of Ministry degree. However, the GREATEST QUALIFICATION for me is I've been a pastor for over 30 years. There are very few people better connected to individuals and communities than pastors. PERSONAL: My 30-year marriage with my best friend, Becky, and our two daughters who love and serve God speaks to my character. EXPERIENCE: Founded a thriving Bible college impacting lives around the world, with over 1,100 students currently enrolled. ( I also served as a college administrator at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie ( THE GATHERING WACO: I was lead administrator for The Gathering Waco, the largest gathering of Christians in Central Texas history which brought together over 30,000 people of various backgrounds. NATIONAL FINE ARTS: I wrote policy for and administrated events impacting hundreds of thousands of students nationwide. 5 Words Define My Life : CHARACTER, CARING, COMPETENCE, COMMITMENT, and COURAGE

E-mail address and phone number for voters to reach you: 817-962-3026

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I would encourage everyone to look at all of the candidates' websites and ask: 1) Which candidate is offering solid, viable plans, not just ideas and/or vague statements? 2) Which candidate clearly demonstrates they're prepared and ready right now to effectively serve their community? 3) Which candidate has consistently and effectively brought people together? 4) Which candidate was serving when people weren't watching, irrespective of whether or not there was a spotlight on their deeds to be seen by the public? You NEED to know: I'm not a candidate who merely presents statements or ideas; I have legitimate plans to start the conversation on a wide variety of issues. I LOVE GOD, my family and friends, and my country unashamedly!
