What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

There is no single solution to the complex National Security challenges we face because of Islamic Terrorism. As a counterterrorism professional, I spent a large part of my adult life tracking down terrorists that would do our homeland and citizens harm. I know first hand what it takes get the job done. We cannot fight the War on Terror alone, and we must deny terrorists from having safe havens from which to plot and train for attacks on the United States. We need to work with all allies around the world to ensure the pressure is never ending. We need to tighten visa loopholes, secure our borders, deny them access to financial resources and ensure that solid intelligence is being shared with our allies and amongst law agencies of all levels. Together, we can decimate the radical Islamic threat.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The founding fathers knew what overbearing government felt like, because they experienced it firsthand. That overreach was the impetus behind their actions, and helped them create a system that could never and should never overreach again. This is the reason behind their setting up a government with multiple checks and balances, safeguarding the seeds of freedom and religious liberty.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I, and my entire family, are Christians. We attend and are active in our church weekly. My grandfather was a Methodist preacher and he instilled in me the importance of faith in all aspects of my life.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I support the full repeal of the Affordable Care Act and gradual reintroduction of the healthcare market place to the private sector. With proper government oversight, protections against price gauging, and protections for pre existing conditions, Americans will be able to choose a healthcare plan that best fits their lifestyle.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The government needs to simply supply infrastructure, provide public safety and should allow the free market to do the rest.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

I believe that the recent tax reform is a step in the right direction. I would continue to build on this progress and ensure that our taxes are easily understood and fair to all Americans.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Eliminating job killing regulations and lowing our corporate tax rate (all taxes for that matter) will lead to a boom in business development. The President has already taken steps in the right direction. Unemployment has steadily decreased and with more support in congress we could expect all time lows in unemployment across the country. Lets unleash the power of small business.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

We must take an honest look at Social Security. For the current generation that is withdrawing there will be NO change. For the younger generations, ages 40 and younger, changes must be made to address shifting demographics. We now live longer and need to account for the situation we have inherited. Just as everyone prepares for retirement on his or her own, we must be responsible with Social Security. I would use the best information available to make a decision that would protect the generation currently withdrawing, while resolving the crisis to protect our future generations.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I am a Texas native, a Christian, a father and community leader who will fight for conservative values. I am a proud Eagle Scout, graduate of Texas A&M and Texas A&M Bush School of Government and Public Service. I am the only candidate with experience as a counterterrorism professional in the War on Terror and I received multiple awards for my role in creating the one of the first terror watch lists that is still used today. I understand the diverse threats facing our communities and the precautions that need to be taken to keep us safe. Currently I work for a leading oil and gas company in Arlington, Texas. I understand the important role of oil and gas and all business in making the American Dream achievable.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

As the only counterterrorism professional in the race, I possess a comprehensive understanding of the threats facing our country and how to intercept them before our citizens are put into harm’s way. I bring a fresh prospective, I am not a career politician, nor am I owned by special interests. I understand the needs of this district because it’s been “home” all of my life, but I also understand its modern needs. Voters should choose me over my opponents because I will use my skills and experiences from counterterrorism and the Oil & Gas industry to move the ball of progress forward bringing jobs and investment to our district but maintaining our unique. I am a proud father and husband and I aim to restore the power and importance of family values to congress.
