Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Only in the case of the life of the mother and I understand that is a small small exception that is incredibly hard to determine and legislate and is used by the left to keep legalized abortion, but I am talking only about extreme extreme cases.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Iran continues to be the most serious threat to security in the Middle East and possibly the world. I was completely against the Iran deal, and I worked to lobby Congress against its implementation. We cannot back down and give Iran any path forward to becoming a nuclear-armed nation. The economic sanctions we had imposed on the Iranians were working and I believe Congress and the Administration should look to re-impose them as a way to keep pressure on the current regime.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

America's founding fathers understood that government left to its own accord, will take as much power as it can. Our founding fathers held the belief that our rights are God-given, not granted by the government and that's why our Constitution’s first words are 'We the people..."

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 13 years old. I grew up at Pastor’s kid, but at a worship concert, I really realized that I was a sinner and needed to be born again. I was completely changed and spent my high school years sharing the gospel with fellow students, promoting my Bible Club at my public high school, and doing Christian theatre. After graduating from high school, I went to Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas following the call of God on my life and did an Associates Degree in Theology. I believe that we were created by God to love Him and know Him,love others and to make a difference in this world. I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, that Jesus is the Son of God – the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that if we live our lives in accordance to His Word that we will reflect His glory to all those around us.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

See my complete answers on my website on all major issues at: http://www.bunnipounds.com/issues/ Immigration: We are a nation of immigrants, but our current system not only undermines the rule of law in our country, it presents a national security threat. To protect American citizens, I support President Trump’s call for increased manpower, surveillance, and a structural border wall. We must crack down on sanctuary cities and states that undermine our nation’s immigration laws. I oppose amnesty and putting a stop to chain migration. Life: I believe life begins at conception and will fight to protect the unborn every day I am in Congress. I’m honored to be the only candidate in this campaign who has earned the endorsement of the Texas Right to Life – and I will uphold that trust each and every day.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

The Affordable Care Act and the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (Obamacare) was a movement toward socialized medicine and has been a disaster for the American family. Furthermore, it was a string of broken promises to the American people. We were promised we could keep our doctors and health plans – all while cutting costs. Instead our premiums have skyrocketed and our choices have diminished. I understand the frustration of American families who have seen their health care premium rise to a level higher than their mortgages. Obamacare has been a disaster and must be completely repealed. Thankfully the latest tax reform bill ended the individual federal mandate, but we still have the employer mandate and the rest of the fundamental framework in place. Replacing Obamacare should put patents and their families in charge of heath care.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

America is more prosperous when government gets out of the way. For too long, bureaucrats in Washington have foisted unnecessary burdensome regulations on our nation’s job creators. As a small business owner, I know that small businesses creates jobs – not the government. I applaud President Trump’s efforts to bring sanity back to our nation’s out of control regulatory structure and the bureaucracy that fosters it, and in Washington, I will do everything possible to help him in his efforts to further the goals of free enterprise and a stronger economy through less regulation and fighting crony capitalism.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

To me, it’s common sense: lower taxes means more money in the pockets of hard working American families, and we must oppose any effort to raise taxes. I promise to protect taxpayers and I have gladly signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge to publicly demonstrate my commitment to lower taxes. I applaud President Trump and Republicans in Congress for passing tax reform which will lower the federal tax burden on individuals and small businesses while spurring economic growth. Ultimately, I would like to see reform in the form of the flat tax or the Fair tax. At a minimum, I believe we need to continue this process by making the individual tax cuts permanent and totally eliminating the death tax.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

The best way to bring down unemployment is to stop the burdensome regulations on small businesses. For too long, federal regulations have placed a stranglehold on our small businesses so they are hindered from creating more jobs, so the best way to bring down unemployment is to repeal many of these regulations.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Social security is in need of reform if it is to remain in place for future generations. We must maintain all obligations that have been made to current recipients. Social security reforms that should be considered include means testing, raising the retirement age, and cracking down on social security fraud.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dallas Baptist University at the age of 32 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science studying American government and Constitutional Law. I have served for a decade as Congressman Jeb Hensarling’s campaign manager, communicating the values of fiscal responsibility and serving the people within the 5th District of Texas hearing their stories and what they desire out from their federal government. Having grown two small businesses with my husband in our younger years, a pest control company that we grew to $750,000 per year and 15 employees, managing and growing Roly Poly Sandwiches with him, and then launching my own consulting firm in 2015 and growing that into a half million dollar company in 2 years, I have a history in management, leadership development, and entrepreneurship that gives me the tools and knowledge of the small business owner to take on the cause of limited government.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am the only candidate in this race endorsed by Texas Right to Life, retiring Congressman Jeb Hensarling, and former Senator Phil Gramm which I take as an incredible honor. As Lt. Col. Allen West said about me, “Here in Texas there are some Congressional seats that need to be maintained by strong Constitutional Conservatives who can articulate the fundamental principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual sovereignty, free market economy, and a strong national defense…. there is such a candidate named Bunni Pounds….a woman of impeccable character and a superb candidate deserving your utmost consideration.” Read all about our campaign at www.bunnipounds.com
