Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I am pro-life but understand that there are some circumstances in which the life of the mother is at risk. In those circumstances I believe the government should not have any input but rather physicians, family, and spiritual counselors should help guide one through this tough decision. Pro-life is much more than the protection of an unborn baby. Society and pro-life advocates need to take the next step to give all children, during pregnancy and after, the opportunities we believe they are afforded upon conception. As a Republican and for limited government, we need to understand the needs and cost and weigh them against our moral duties of providing basic needs such as housing, education & food. Republicans cheer military funding but gasp when health services provided services to those unable to afford adequate healthcare. Pro-life politicians should all be discussing maternity & paternity leave, adoptions, and childcare. We are pro-life from conception until adulthood or not at all!

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Trump said, “Radical Islamic Terrorism” it made people uncomfortable. We must stop protecting people from being offended and discuss the issue rather than worry about the words being used. Recognizing the true enemy is the first step and then engraining in the minds of our military, America, and the world that winning the ideological battle is just as important as winning on the battlefield. We need to understand that one of the main goals of radicals is to confuse people and make it hard to untangle Radical Islam from conventional Islamic teachings. This fight should not be exclusive to the United States, but instead one that includes our international allies and allows the sharing of intelligence and military force to destroy and discourage any growth or development of such terrorism groups. It is necessary that we be willing to capture the enemy and not solely focus on killing them as we need insights into their organization. Foreign leaders need to be held accountable.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Is the Nature of Mankind inherently good or evil? Regardless of the answer & driven by the idea of kings & nobility, America’s Founders put a system in place where power is not centralized, but checked, & ultimately held by the people for the people & not by a ruler &/or an elite class. The accumulation of all powers in one hand can be the definition of Tyranny. But by separating powers into the three different types of government & each being given a different responsibly the powers are then se

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Teachings of Christianity often stress that a person should respect others, help those in need, and treat others as you wish to be treated. We are often so focused on our busy lives that we forget to be mindful of the world around us. I value the following characteristics; commitment, hard work, gratitude, tolerance, truth, integrity and honesty. I strive to incorporate these values into my daily life so as to lead others by example. I expect to find these values in other public figures of political or celebrity status. I have seen so much hypocrisy through the years that I consciously make myself try to understand issues from multiple perspectives. No one can truly know what is driving an individual to make choices they do so I feel that understanding an issue from all angles is the best way to form an objective opinion that allows for discovery of a solution. Elected officials need to “practice what they preach.”

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Somewhat Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Publicly available information would be available on my social media post, my position papers, and videos on my website. This would confirm I am a strong fiscal conservative and socially lean more towards moderate to somewhat liberal.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

1) Employee provided healthcare needs to end & be replaced with healthcare purchased by individuals & families through the open markets (like auto insurance). Access to plans won’t be limited to an employer & purchased plans will not change when switching jobs. 2) Price transparency & free market for all procedures & visits will allow patients to be aware of cost upfront & will drive competition & improve quality. 3) Cost assistance should be available if an individual/family is unable to afford care. 4) Keep preexisting conditions coverage. 5) Individuals will not be required to purchase healthcare. 6) Company sponsored HSA accounts to allow individuals to save for primary care coverage & deductibles. 7) Creation of state domestic mutual insurance companies which provide a stable, last resort, competitive market. 8) National database so doctors (with permission) can see diagnosis & prescriptions from other doctors.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Through proper monetary policy and regulations on businesses, the government can encourage growth and prevent recessions or depressions. The government can tax and spend money which directly relates to the amount of money consumers and businesses have to spend. The Federal Reserve plays a key role fiscal policy and needs to continue to play that role to avoid not just inflation, but deflation. The money supply and interest rates is a powerful tool to help escape recessions and keep a stable economy. The gold standard we sometimes hear about is a dangerous idea which is agreed to by most if not all economist. The government should be minimizing expenditures when not needed. Many services such as education are provided by the government, but the private sector can provide services at a higher quality and lower cost which effectively allows consumers and businesses to have more money.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

The tax code needs simplification and removal of loopholes, which did not happen in this tax reform policy. Free market should not be determined by tax legislation that benefits specific individuals or organizations. Tax policy should not be a mechanism to give subsidies as that starts a slippery slope which eventually leads back to a complex and loophole driven policy. I believe every tax payer should pay some tax, regardless of the amount, to encourage awareness. One major piece, is the need for bipartisan support of a tax code. Until we reach bipartisan support we will continue to see major swings to tax policy when the Republican or Democratic parties control Congress and the White House.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Job creation. First is through education and innovation. This will produce jobs in the future that do not exist today and increase productivity. Second, the government should not keep industries alive for the purpose of job security but instead let the free market decide which industries will thrive and innovate all while preparing and transitioning the workforce. Third, small businesses are the backbone of America, but they are at a disadvantage compared to large more efficiency companies with easier access to capital. The government can and should shoulder some of the risk of small business loans. Fourth, The trade deficit needs to be addressed, as a continued, long term deficit could be an indication that the U.S. is unable to produce what is being demanded. By decreasing our trade deficit America produces more. Fifth, don’t increase the minimum wage but instead adjust the Earned Income Tax Credit to help business add more people.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

There is no perfect solution, but changes are needed to address the solvency. Some steps I am in favor of are as follows; 1) The U.S. Social Security Administration does not receive the highest return on the current surplus and therefore a partnership with corporations or a change in investment strategy is needed. A partnership could provide adequate returns for Social Security or purchased annuities from corporation would allow the private sector to maximize return on investment while still providing the security needed to continue to provide benefits. 2) As people continue to live longer, the full retirement age needs to slightly increase which will impact younger Americans. 3) Payroll tax cap needs to be increased from the current cap of $128,400. 4) Reduced benefits for high net worth individuals.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have 10+ years working as an actuary internationally & domestically. I’ve had past medical issues that showed me the good & bad of the medical & health insurance industries. I am an individual who identifies with my constituents as I am not a career politician or using this as a planned next step after studying politics...I am just a frustrated citizen wanting to make a change. Congress does not need any more lawyers or career politicians. We need individuals who rely on data & understand the underlying issues that drive the majority of the US budget (Social Security & insurance). I am going to focus on solutions that work to solve the issue regardless of party lines & understand my constituents, not the small percentage that fall in the extreme far right of the spectrum. I understand that one problem is the lack of transparency & the abundance of vague cookie cutter answers. I promise to be transparent so all individuals know not only where I stand on important issues, but why.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I did not decide to run for office because it was the next step in my career path. I am running because it has been said that Congress is broken when in fact, how & who we select is broken. Politics shouldn’t be an elite club for those with money or connections. Bipartisanship doesn’t exist in Washington & Congress must end the back & forth legislation that leaves America in a state of turmoil. Term limits, campaign finance, social security, and education all need reformed. These issues cannot be addressed if America continues to elect extreme left & right representatives that are unable to work together to truly represent the American people. We complain about how our officials spend too much time fundraising, or vote along party lines regardless of the issues, yet we continue to reelect them time and time again.
