Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has a livable income.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None. Life begins at conception. The innocent, defenseless, unborn child should be protected, even when conception occurs under rare instances of evil and criminal circumstances.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The experiences with the British Monarchy caused America's Founders to realize government's role needs to be limited in scope and accountable to the people. We did not throw off the rule of one king 3000 miles away over 200 years ago in order to be ruled by 3000 bureaucrats one mile away today.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to Earth to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He was born of a virgin, crucified to death, entombed, rose to life on the third day and now sits at the right hand of God.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

The best way to reduce unemployment is economic growth - through reduced taxes and reduced government interference in our economy.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

We need to allow the free market to determine costs and coverages while reducing government interference in healthcare. The theory sold to the American people that Obamacare was going to reduce insurance premiums and improve coverage has been debunked. Instead, our tax dollars have gone to individual insurance subsidies and insurance company bailouts. The result...we are paying higher insurance premiums and higher taxes while receiving worse coverage. Government interference in our economy is not the answer to the challenges we face.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

We need to allow the Free Market more influence on the economic decisions of Texans. Thus, reducing government's role in the economy, especially in the realm of taxation so businesses can have more money to invest and innovate.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

As a son, brother, husband, father, small business owner, taxpayer, and Texan, my conservative values have served my family well. They will also serve District 59 well.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am a strong supporter of public education, as my wife taught in public school before our daughters were born. If we truly want the "pursuit of happiness" in America then we must provide education. In addition, I oppose sending public funds to private schools through vouchers.
