Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I abhor abortion. I detest it in all its forms. I believe that according to the constitution, the federal government cannot regulate what states determine to be allowable. I believe that we in Kansas should determine for ourselves the limits on this heinous activity. I do not pretend to have all the answers to this complex issue but I would support its elimination.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The question of “Can mankind self-govern?” had been asked and unanswered..until our founding fathers created our Constitution. There will always be those who seek to dominate, who seek to subjugate, who are driven only by self-interest. There will always be oppressive governments whose leaders will try to take power from constituents. We have developed the best system of governance which protects freedoms and limits tyrannical leadership.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised and have always been Roman Catholic. I have always had ultimate faith in God and that he works through man to allow us to live in faith and in service to him and each other. I value the family. I believe that family values start in the home and must be taught and respected. I have great appreciation for respect, decency and civility and will strive every day to live in an honorable way. I detest fear, hatred and disrespect. I believe in treating others as you would have them treat you, even in the face of poor treatment. I will show respect regardless of what others do and I will lead with a clear conscious that I am working towards improving society and representing everyone fairly, whether they share my values or not.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

Economically, I've consistently voted against wasteful spending on my school board. Before that, I took a bloated, deficit budget for my school district and in one short year, turned it into a surplus and transfered money back into reserves. On National Security, I think I'm the only Conservative in the race, especially since I'm the one with a proven military record having fought in the Gulf War. Most importantly, on the size and scope of government, I have the clearest policies which will reduce the long-term debt and relieve future generations from the slavery that is debt.

Additional comment from candidate:

There is NO path to making government function the way it was intended in our Constitution until a truly Independent Conservative is elected to office. I believe I can bring about needed change to the business-as-usual approach of the Washington Establishment. If we continue electing the same pre-packaged, sold-out politicians, we will continue to see the exact same results and debt will continue to skyrocket, defense will continue to crumble, and voters will be further turned off by the entire process. I believe I can truly make a difference for future generations.
