Congress should repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

Strongly Agree

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.

Strongly Disagree

The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Strongly Agree

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Strongly Agree

Current regulations on domestic oil exploration and drilling are more restrictive than are necessary.

Strongly Agree

It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

More restrictive gun control laws are needed to protect public safety.

Strongly Disagree

The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self-interest into the most productive economic system there is.

Strongly Agree

Governments should pay to develop wind and solar energy solutions until they are economically feasible.

Strongly Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States.

Strongly Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with public funds.

Strongly Agree

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

The United States should help defend Israel from attack by its enemies.

Strongly Agree

Planned Parenthood should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

Marijuana should be legalized and regulated like tobacco and alcohol.

Islamic law (Sharia) does not pose a threat to the United States and its Constitution.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As a strong supporter of life, I believe every baby is precious in the eyes of God. I support an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that says only in the case when the life of the mother is at risk should this be an option.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Our precious freedoms have a divine origin. Our Founding Fathers recognized the sinful nature of man and the potential corruption of leaders. They created a number of principles to curb the power of government, making it difficult for government to trample the God-given rights of citizens. At the close of the Constitutional Convention, a woman asked Benjamin Franklin what type of government the Constitution was bringing into existence. Franklin replied, "A republic, if you can keep it."

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

A fully-devoted follower of Christ and professing born-again Christian, I said the sinner’s prayer while blindfolded in front of a firing squad of AK-47s aimed right at me. While my mother made me go to church growing up, it wasn’t until that instant in 1966 when I really understood the power of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. From that moment on, I knew He was with me – even in my darkest hours as a Prisoner of War. I am a member of First United Methodist Church in Plano. I also attend Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco where I enjoy the teachings of my friend, Pastor Chuck Swindoll.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I recently earned the endorsement of my friend, David Barton, from Wallbuilders. We share a love of country and proud legacy of faith we want our children and grandchildren to pass on to generations to come. That Judeo-Christian heritage is under attack and we’re doing our best to rekindle respect for the Constitution, reconnect with our Christian roots and reclaim our national motto: ONE NATION UNDER GOD. I voted to repeal, dismantle, and defund ObamaCare. I voted to defund Planned Parenthood. I voted to stop Obama’s Unconstitutional Amnesty for Illegals I strongly oppose Obama’s UNCONSTITUTIONAL Gun Control agenda I’ve publicly called for a STOP of Obama’s Syrian refugee “free-for-all” plan. I co-authored the original legislation to repeal the Wright Amendment. Full repeal became law in 2014 and has freed Love Field to offer direct flights at more competitive rates – a win for fiscal conservatives and free enterprise.

Additional comment from candidate:

As a lifelong fighter pilot, faith, family, and freedom are my hallmarks. They are nonnegotiable. It would be a tremendous honor to earn endorsements from the well-respected, conservative voters of Texas Values Action, AFA Action, United in Purpose, and Heritage Alliance. In addition, I’d like to share exciting news about one of my most recent congressional accomplishments. North Texas is getting a new, much-needed VA Clinic in Plano that is expected to open in spring of this year. This clinic is something that I have been working on for several years now on behalf of North Texas veterans. It took a lot of hard work and determination to get the attention of the VA Hospital system officials and then quite some time to convince them that the best location would be Plano. This new clinic, the first of its kind in Collin County, will serve thousands of North Texas veterans. This clinic is long overdue and I’m beyond thankful to have played a key role in landing the facility.
