There should be a strict constitutional spending limit for state and local governments that would tie the rate of spending to the rate of population growth plus the rate of inflation.

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

This system of government was established to limit the tendency of government (and people in government) to assume and exercise excessive power. The Constitution defines powers of government to specify the proper role of government; it separates those powers among three branches to provide checks and balances so that any one branch does not become too powerful; and it limits those powers to protect individual freedoms.

Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, who gives mankind certain inalienable rights. Voters: Governments derive their powers from the consent of the governed. Constitution: The framework of our government. Congress and the Supreme Court (and the Executive Branch).

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Only in the extremely rare case in which it is medically necessary to save the life of the mother.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian who believes in the infallibility of the Holy Bible. My priorities are first to serve God, then to love and care and provide for my family, and then to serve others. I believe that our government and society functions best (and in the manner it was originally intended) if we promote Biblical, Judeo-Christian values. These beliefs and values have been instrumental in me obtaining the endorsement of Life PAC (the political arm of Texans for Life) and Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

As a member of the City Council, and as Mayor of Heath, Texas, I have worked to have our City focus on the fundamental and basic functions of government, like roads, water supply and public safety, as well as encouraging economic development and job growth within our City. We have done this and still kept our tax rate among the lowest in our District.

Additional comment from candidate:

Note to Q12: Our nation technically may not be a "pure democracy", but I answered the question as if it was. As a State Representative, I will make decisions based upon my traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs. Our former President, Theodore Roosevelt, said that “…the teachings of the Bible are so interwoven and entwined with our whole civic and social life that it would be literally - I do not mean figuratively, I mean literally - impossible for us to figure to ourselves what that life would be if these teachings were removed.” In the early 1960's, the Supreme Court removed the Bible and Prayer from schools, which began the process of removing the Bible and Prayer from all facets of public life. Consequently, can now see what President Roosevelt said was literally impossible for us to figure. We must return to our Judeo-Christian, Biblical foundation in this Country.
