Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

In my opinion life starts at conception and abortion is wrong. I believe that the sanctity of life is what is important, and life of the child is just as important as the life of the mother. Both lives should be protected equally, as both were created by God.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Our Founding Fathers knew the devastating effects of tyranny in many forms from throughout the history of Europe and around the world. They had a moral compass that was God Almighty, and knew that in order for a nation of free men to live as they have the right to, our government was to have limited powers. It is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Checks and balances of a limited government and our constitution is the bedrock of our great nation.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a compassionate born again conservative Christian. I regularly attend Emmanuel Baptist Temple in Hagerstown Maryland. I am not a perfect man, and know that I can always do better, and look to God's guidance in everything I do. I am a sinner, like everyone else, but I believe that we are Saved by God's Grace. I believe that through God's guidance on our lives, we should do what we can for our fellow citizens as we are able to. In government, that means that we provide programs geared towards giving folks a hand up, not necessarily a handout. Providing folks with the ability to have good paying jobs, and the ability for them to provide for themselves and their families.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I believe that everything that I have done as a Clear Spring Councilman, Vice Mayor, and as a three term County Commissioner, reflects my deeply rooted compassionate conservative principles. I believe that government is necessary to provide the basics of public service and must be limited and not intrusive in people's lives. People need to live within their means, work hard to provide for their families, and not be burdened down with an overreaching government. I always want our taxes to be as low as possible, because I don't feel that the government should be spending your money in a wasteful manner.

Additional comment from candidate:

I am truly honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to try and represent the Citizens of Maryland's 6th Congressional District in the US House of Representatives. I am working hard to try and earn your support and trust. If I am fortunate enough to do so, I promise that I will never forget where I come from. I am a blue collar compassionate conservative who is the product of a good old fashioned public education, and hard work. I've worked hard my entire life to raise a family, and provide for them. As a life long educator, I've spend my career trying to help students and show them they have a great life ahead of them if they work hard for it. Life is full of rewards, but it is earned, not given to you. As a public servant, I understand the effects that the government has on people's lives, and I believe that it can be overreaching. We must have a limited government that serves the people, and not be a burden on people's lives.
