18. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

Humans self-interest often leads to choices that favor immediate gratification over the long-term interests of the Republic and preservation of the rights of the states and the people. Government leaders often covet power and seek to secure and enhance their own power. Checks and balances are necessary to preserve liberty and ensure that no one member or branch of government can become so powerful as to deny the enduring rights of the people from whom authority flows.

19. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

Constitution.

20. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

The right to abortion is guaranteed in certain circumstances pursuant to binding precedent set by the United States Supreme Court. Under our system of laws, that is the law of the land. While my personal views regarding life vary from the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade, as Attorney General, I will respect the rule of law.

21. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior.
