People tend to act in their own best interests (for them and their family). But power corrupts some people and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Freedom is key to a Republican form of government and when the government is too powerful the people lose their freedom.

I believe in God the father and in his son, Jesus Christ. I believe there is a Holy Spirit that is with me always. I believe in individual rights from government interference. The rights listed in our Constitution need to be protected.
