16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

History demonstrates time and time again that humanity has a propensity towards power and authority. Even with the best intentions at times, individuals (or groups) have pursued power and wielded it at the cost of life and liberty for countless others. America's Founders carefully defined, separated, and limited the power of government in order to maintain a checks and balances system that would prevent this kind of usurpation of power and preserve liberty for as long as possible.

17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

Strongly Disagree

God, Constitution, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm a committed follower of Jesus. I'm far from perfect, have made more mistakes in my life than I can (or am willing to) count, but the grace of God draws me in in spite of my faults. I consider all life sacred, created by God. I pursue life as if I were created on purpose to love and serve others, especially the broken and hurting among us. I also hold that liberty, true liberty, is the greatest asset for humanity to grow, prosper, and thrive. It was to enjoy a life of liberty in relation with Him that God created the world and all its inhabitants.
