18. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am Christian and have been raised in the Catholic Church. I believe that man is created by God in his image and that all innocent life is sacred. I believe that God intended us to have free will and to use it and all of our gifts (intellectual, physical, etc.) to further his will. Therefore, I believe in individual liberty and personal responsibility. It is the role of government to uphold those values, not to denigrate them by hampering personal freedom or by attempting to control our lives and make us dependent on government from the cradle to the grave.
