16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

As our country's founders deliberated declaring independence from Britain, they established a form of government that would be "by the people and for the people". They were aware of man's inherent selfish nature that, if not restrained, could result in a tyrannical form of government. They knew first hand how man's desire for complete power resulted in the infringement of people's rights; so they organized 3 branches of government that would prevent any single person from gaining absolute power.

17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

Strongly Disagree

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. As described in John Chapter 1, he was present from the beginning of time and because of his deep love for humanity chose t die a death he died not deserve so that we could spend eternity with him in Heaven. As a Christian it is my responsibility to live the life Jesus died for me to live. My faith is the foundation upon which all other beliefs, including my political views are based. Life begins at conception and each and every life is valuable and deserves to be protected from conception to natural death. Marriage is an institution created by God in the garden of Eden between 1 man and 1 woman. He is the creator of marriage and gave it its definition before the US federal government was ever established. My faith is everything to me and affects every decision and choice I make.
