16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

The founders wanted to create checks and balances so that no one branch of government would become too powerful. The nature of mankind is basically greedy with an overwhelming desire for power. If left to his own means, mankind would have reverted back to the same scenarios that were evident in Europe at that time with kings, queens, and dictators.

17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

Strongly Agree

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, Congress, Supreme Court, Voters

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in God but I have found that some organized religions leave me wanting. I don't believe that I have to be in a beautiful building to communicate with God. My beliefs are based on honesty, family, friends, and treating others the way you would like them to treat you. I find strength in my relationship with God and I believe that God guides me each day.
