14. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

They understood that the key to the success of a society is equality of opportunity for all citizens, and that no birthright or other unearned titles would be able to coexist in that system, so they banned them. They also realized that it was the natural tendency of those in power to try and attain more, so they set up a simple yet brilliant set of checks and balances to prevent any group or person from getting too much power. They then wrote a constitution that defined governments' limits.

15. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

Obamacare: The constitution does not allow the gov't interact between a patient and doctor. The idea that costs would come down was as much of a lie as "You can keep your insurance plan". It must be repealed. It cannot be fixed. Tort reform and cross state competition will lower costs and improve coverage. Energy: The US has the ability to become completely energy independent and should work toward that goal immediately. The $800B we send overseas for oil should stay here. It will also fortify our foreign policy stance and weaken our enemies when we no longer need to import oil. Welfare: The growing welfare and food stamp roles are eating away at the human dignity of this country. It has become a vote buying program and it is creating more dependency and curbing initiative. We cannot allow another generation to grow up with the government becoming the sole provider. It is not the American Way.

16. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Only three possible circumstances and the child is still innocent in all cases. Rape and incest because the woman had no choice not to engage in the act and the pregnancy would be a constant reminder of the trauma. However, the best possible outcome would be to carry the child to term and give it up for adoption to a family who has been wanting a child. That would be the ultimate act of love and forgiveness. If the life of the mother is in danger, then it would be foolish to subordinate her life to the child's, especially if she has other dependent children. This case is probably extremely rare with today's medicine.

17. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, Supreme Court, Voters, Congress,

18. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised a Catholic and continue to be a Christian. The Judeo-Christian morality that was the country was founded on is consistent with my values.
