16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

The Founders could best be described as visionaries. They knew that some leaders would naturally try to achieve more power and control in this republic form of government. Thus, they put into place a system of checks and balances, as well as seperation of powers, in order to ensure that one part of the federal government would not overpower another nor overpower the states.

17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.

Disagree

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised in the Missionary Baptist Church. My grandfather, father, and brother are all ministers. I grew up with the idea of public service being an integral part of life. Serving others is what God asks each one of us to do beyond serving Him first and foremost. I highly believe Micah 6:8 is the best description of how Chrisitans should live. "What doth the Lord require of thee? Do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with thy God."
