What We're
Doing in 2019

By Debbie Wuthnow

Isn’t this an “Off” Year?

“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven…”  ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1 (ESV)

The election cycles of 2016 and 2018 were eventful, passionate, and challenging for Christians. You might think we would welcome a breather to prepare for 2020. In reality, there is much to do this year, even now, to ensure that all voters have the best information available in order to make decisions at the ballot box. Whether the election is national, statewide, or state legislative, it is important that each of us are prepared as we enter the polling place.

If you have watched the news this year you have seen the results of the most recent election cycle play out in several states as well as on the national stage. Alarming words like “Socialism” and “infanticide” have become a part of the public discourse in a manner that would have been unimaginable only a short time ago.

Reasoned public dialogue has also diminished, as activists and candidates use polarizing language to get sought-after “likes” and engagement on social media.

What is being lost is critical. Americans are losing the ability – and more frighteningly, the desire – to discern facts from “click-bait” and to engage one another in honest, respectful discourse about issues and candidates. How many times have we clicked on a sensational headline only to find the article lacks meaningful content or even facts?

We believe that you, our iVoterGuide family, can turn the tide - in terms of what happens at the polls as well as in terms of how we interact with one another at the dinner table, fellowship hall, and the work place.

We believe that iVoterGuide’s dedication to research and using originally-sourced materials not only helps you find the candidates who most share your values, it also gives you a place to find information free of hype and scare tactics – the only place meaningful, honest discussion can take root.

Take a look at what iVoterGuide is covering in 2019, and then join us in prayer and in sharing this high-quality resource with others.
