What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Blacklidge:   The belief that our rights come from God not from the government. By acknowledging God and His role in the universe, our Founders were able to ground individual human liberties in the human connection to Him, and in that way secure them from the reaches of government. Our Government exercises legitimate power by “the consent of the governed” and it defined the conditions of a free people whose rights and liberty are derived from their Creator.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Blacklidge:   I believe one God is over all and God sent Jesus to teach us the way (lessons) to live a life that leads us closer to God. Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you. I believe everyone in the World is related (DNA has shown this) and thus should all be held equal in the eyes of God and each other. These brothers and sisters should receive our love and acceptance and we should strive to be shinning examples of good Godly people and allow God to flow through us and bring others closer to their heavenly reward. I believe we all start out as loving, caring and Godly beings however, because God loved us so much, we were given the gift of choice and because of that freedom some fall from the trail to God and it's reward. Religious connections to God are personal and each connection is good. Some find God in big marbled cathedrals, some in small neighborhood churches, some find it in the woods with nature. The Bible is a roadmap that makes the journey easier. Everyday I pray.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Blacklidge:   Conservative
Webb:   (Did not answer)

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Blacklidge:   I am very conservative on fiscal responsibility. I believe in less government, less regulation, less spending, creating more jobs, quality diverse education, ban sanctuary cities, pro-life, pro 2nd amendment, pro rule of law. I am also a strong supporter of our Veterans and first responders. I want to be the voice for future generations of Floridians, senior citizens, first responders, the unborn and our veterans. I am a supporter of Governor Rick Scott and President Donald Trump. I believe in the power of prayer and realize that my talents our God given flowing through me. I am a business owner who understands the responsibility the Government has in providing balanced budgets that don't overly burden future generations.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Blacklidge:   Luckily, between the policies of Governor Rick Scott and President Donald Trump we have the lowest unemployment in decades. In fact we have a current workforce shortage of physicians and nurses in Florida. We need to provide incentives to students interested in the medical field starting with offering tuition discounts at the community college level and beyond. We need to give student families more choices in education. We need more vocational avenues for students to follow without schools being penalized for budget dollars.
Webb:   (Did not answer)

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Blacklidge:   Before we can bring down health care costs we need to rein in lawsuit abuse. We should not mandate healthcare coverage, Obama Care taught us that increases costs. We need to build competition between carriers. Allow carriers the flexibility to offer more variety of policies. I support setting up a framework for telehealth providers and technology guidelines. I believe on-line medical assistance will help save costs.
Webb:   (Did not answer)

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Blacklidge:   Continue Governor Scott’s Office of Fiscal Accountability and Regulatory Reform efforts and review all regulations and red tape for small businesses. We need to always have a balanced budget and in no circumstance would I support an increase in state income or other tax. I would work with economists to see how we can proportionately tax the newer population based on the services used.
Webb:   (Did not answer)

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Blacklidge:   I have 32 years being a business owner with insurance and legal experience. As an insurance executive, a business entrepreneur and a consumer advocate, I am a strong believer in service to others and of giving back to the community. I have served in significant roles of public policy development, legislative drafting, advocacy, lobbying, regulatory compliance, litigation, public affairs, insurance transaction drafting and execution. I was admitted to: the Illinois bar in May of 1986; Florida authorized House Counsel from 1996-2000; the Florida bar in May 2002; the USDC, Northern District of Illinois in June of 1986; the USDC, Northern District of Illinois Federal Trial Bar in March of 1991, the USDC, Middle District of Florida in June of 2003; United States Supreme Court in November 2009. I have been an elected official and care deeply about the future of Florida not only for our five children and 5 grandchildren but for all future generations of Floridians.
