Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   life of the mother is hanging in the balance
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   Under no circumstances should a human heartbeat at any stage be purposely killed. An abortion is a life-threatening procedure to the mother as well as the fetus. PLAN-B: After conception it takes 3 weeks approximately before there is a fetal heartbeat. Since the 1970's there has been a "morning after pill" which would prevent conception/pregnancy after intercourse with the opposite sex. Everyone makes mistakes but why be irresponsible and kill a “human” heartbeat when you don't have to. "Plan-B" or the "Morning After Pill" is $20 on Amazon or any local pharmacy and can be taken the "morning after" the mistake has been made to prevent conception. Why is there such a huge push by women’s organizations for a "life-threatening" treatment to a woman? Could it have something to do with the black-market “demand” for fetal tissue? As we've recently discovered?
La Croix:   Rape and Incest
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   I support a woman’s right to choose an abortion in the case of rape, incest or whenever the mother’s life may be in danger. Anytime a woman must face these circumstances it is a tragedy and she deserves support and compassion. We need to do all we can to protect women from heinous crimes like rape. I believe in prosecuting rapists to the full extent of the law to make sure they never inflict that pain on another woman again. I know first hand that laws like those work to keep communities and all women safe.
Tarkanian:   Abortion should only be allowed to save the life of the mother.
Teijeiro:   (Did not answer)

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   stop refugees influx into the U.S., as well as destroying them everywhere
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   Islam is an "Ideology" NOT a religion and should be treated as a such! Islam has NO business using separate laws (Sharia Law) that are discriminatory, racist and VIOLENT let alone violate our American laws, culture and human rights. I believe in enforcing our laws. The laws of the United States of America. President Trump is doing a great job eradicating Islamic Terrorism by destroying their ideology as well as their leaders.
La Croix:   Continue to ensure the military apply pressure...Work with our allies in support of cyber terrorism and intelligence.
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   We must allow our military leaders to act and not let politicians get in the way of executing their mission. Our military should be allowed to act swiftly and with the necessary force to eliminate the problems we face.
Tarkanian:   As President Reagan put it, we must always be prepared so that we’ll always be free. Additionally, I believe that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ loosening of the “rules of engagement,” which has allowed our troops to more quickly and effectively combat and defeat ISIS and other terrorists groups in the Middle East and elsewhere, is wise and correct. Further, I support President Trump’s limited travel ban and ending the visa lottery program.
Teijeiro:   (Did not answer)

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   imperfect sinners
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   Our founding Fathers wanted FREEDOM from tyranny & Freedom from oppression.
La Croix:   To ensure that our freedoms are protected and powers by each state are not compromised
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   Our founders understood that there are natural rights given to use by God. Establishing a system of government that allowed those rights to flourish and grow was essential and having the constitution enumerate those rights and establishing a frame work to ensure the rights would not be limited or infringed upon is what has kept America the shining city on the hill all these years later.
Tarkanian:   We are endowed by our Creator with unalienable “natural” rights, among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Government derives from the consent of the governed, therefore the Constitution is an enumerated powers document, with limits, checks and balances.
Teijeiro:   (Did not answer)

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   I believe in God and Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe in Repentance and second chance. I believe in helping people to succeed in life. I believe in Hard work, lower taxes, a mighty American military. I am pro-life and a firm believer in the Right to Bear Arms. I am a strict Constitutional Conservative, as well as a generous and charitable Traditionalist. I AM AN UN-APOLOGETIC AND RELENTLESS TRUMP WARRIOR !!!
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   I was raised Christian and have always been extremely spiritual. I am currently a Minister of the Universal Life Church, but I do not attend a synagogue. I think everyone has the right to keep their spirituality to themselves or to express it how they see fit. This freedom of expression and Religion needs to be protected!
La Croix:   God is the center of my life and I observe the Sabbath.
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   I am a Christian. I have been saved since I was 6 years old. I've been in church since I was 6 weeks old. I believe Jesus Christ is our Lord and savior and that he died on the cross and rose again. I am married to an Ordained Pastor with the Assemblies of God and I am a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God.
Tarkanian:   I am a Christian. I have given my life to the Lord.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   Ability to purchase competitive quality healthcare policy and paid for by funds from my tax-free HSA savings account.
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   Health Care Coverage is a fancy word for Insurance. Insurance Companies don't care about your health!!! People need "Health Insurance" (which only covers "Western Medicine"), because Western Medicine is NOT AFFORDABLE! That is the issue! Why doesn't "Health Care/Insurance" cover Eastern Medicine, Native American Medicine, South American Medicine and African Medicine? We have all these cultures in our country! These other cultural medicines are affordable and have CURES FOR CANCER but are NOT recognized or covered by "Western Medicine Insurance Companies (which are owned by BANKS)... ALSO, Why doesn't Health Insurance give "Incentives" for those who live a Healthy Lifestyle" like Life Insurance Policies? The healthier you "test" the cheaper the Health Insurance should be! Why does a Western Medical Doctor lose his Medical License if he treats his cancer patient with anything other than "surgery (cutting)" radiation" (burning) and "chemotherapy" (poison)
La Croix:   Provide the framework for affordable and effective system of choices and specialty services.
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   Solving our healthcare crisis won’t be easy, but we desperately need reform. You don’t need the government telling you what type of healthcare you require. You should be able to pick the plan that works best for you. It is time we gave power back to the people to make their health care decisions. It’s time the people who need quality care get it. Too many people are being left behind thanks to ACA and we cannot allow that to happen any longer. We can no longer put our heads in the sand and act like everything will just work out. Lying to the American people must stop. We must tell the truth and bring solutions. We don’t need government run health care or insurance run healthcare. We need patient focused healthcare.
Tarkanian:   Every time our country has created competition in a field we have received a better product and a lower cost. The (Un)Affordable Care Act has eliminated competition which has caused prices to skyrocket. We need to allow individuals to purchase insurance across state lines. We need to increase the availability and scope of Health Savings Accounts. We need to provide individuals different plans so they can choose what is best for their family. We need to create and fund high risk pools so that individuals with true preexisting conditions can receive coverage at a reasonable cost.
Teijeiro:   (Did not answer)

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   Get a sustainable 4% to 5% economic growth rate in the U. s. by way of significant de-regulation of our Free Market Business enterprise economic system. And, coupled with lower taxes for All.
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   Government should get out of the way and stay out of the Private Sector's business.
La Croix:   Made in USA.
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   The government should provide an environment with low regulation and a tax structure that encourages innovation and growth. Outside of that the government should not try to boost the economy, it should rely on job creators and businesses to grow our economy.
Tarkanian:   On January 20, 1981 Ronald Reagan delivered his first Inaugural Address. In it he warned… “For decades we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children’s future for the temporary convenience of the present. . . . We must act today in order to preserve tomorrow.” I believe the biggest role the government has in boosting the economy is to reduce our federal deficit. My views can pretty much be summed up in two guiding principles best expressed by Ronald Reagan… 1.) Government isn’t the solution to the problem; government IS the problem 2.) The American people aren’t taxed too little; the government spends too much
Teijeiro:   (Did not answer)

What changes should be made to the tax code?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   Lower rates for All and higher Standard Deduction. Also, we must Repeal line-20 on IRS Form-1040, ie. to repeal federal income tax on Social Security income for seniors or the elderly. This action could give up to $5,000.00 of cash annually for Social Security beneficiaries. President Clinton and the Democrat congress put income tax on social security benefits in 1993...
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   Social Security Benefits should NOT be taxed!!! That's a double tax. Capital Losses should be indexed for inflation. Businesses and Individuals should be given an extra 30 days to file. The tax code has become so complicated people and businesses need more time to get their files together.
La Croix:   Flat Tax based annual income.
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   I would like to see how the current tax plan passed in December effects growth and our deficit before we make any more changes. I am 100% for tax reform. I do wish the tax cuts just passed were permanent.
Tarkanian:   In generality terms, we should eliminate all deductions and exemptions that favor one select group or business over the rest of the country. Our tax code is littered with special tax breaks for groups and businesses with influence over our legislators. A perfect example is the carried-interest loophole. The carried-interest loophole will cost taxpayers nearly $17 billion over a decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office. The loophole must be closed and hedge-fund managers must be required to pay their fair share of taxes. In March, the U.S. Treasury Department announced impending regulations to close the loophole for S-corporations. That is a step in the right direction.
Teijeiro:   (Did not answer)

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   Grow the economy, less regulation. Low taxes.
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   See my answer for number 31. Government should get out of the way and stay out of the Private Sector's business.
La Croix:   Provide incentives to businesses to build and employ its citizens.
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   Unemployment is nearing an all-time low and more people are entering the workforce. This is happening because we have allowed businesses the certainty to hire again with lower taxes and regulation reduction.
Tarkanian:   Businesses must invest in the American people. Job creators (businesses, NOT government!) are incentivized to invest when the government gets out of the way. Decreased regulations, lower taxes, and a freer market allow businesses to put Americans to work.
Teijeiro:   (Did not answer)

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   Adjust the lavish future retirement promises and encourage savings and 401-K participation.
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   Balance the Budget. Find the 7-10 Trillion dollars that the Pentagon is missing. Audit the Pentagon. Audit the IRS. Eliminate unnecessary government spending.
La Croix:   Invest funds in markets that are progressive and guaranteed returns...Also encourage employee divesting the savings programs.
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   Social Security is estimated to be insolvent in 17 years. That means someone who receives $2000 a month from social security now will get $1500 or less in 17 years. That said we must address the issue. We need to find ways to cut spending across the board and in all areas of government in order to save these programs and make sure they thrive for all future generations that have paid into the system
Tarkanian:   The future of Social Security is dependent upon the workforce. We must have more people earning a paycheck, and that requires a market suitable for investment and the creation of jobs. In addition, for individuals in their early 40’s or younger the minimum age for collecting social security benefits must increase as the average life expectancy for Americans have increased. This increase must not affect individuals who are already close to retirement age.
Teijeiro:   (Did not answer)

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Carter:   (Did not answer)
Hamilton:   My extensive engineering, manufacturing, economics, business, law school background.
Hammond:   (Did not answer)
Jones:   Congressmen and women are supposed to be "representatives" of the "people" in their area. The "Qualifications" to hold office of a US Congress Woman or Man is to be a Citizen of the United States of America, a resident of Nevada AND A non-felon...which I am. That makes me qualified. My job is to represent "We The 'little' People" of Nevada District-3. I will fight to do just that. In addition, I am a small business owner in Henderson Nevada, a Mother, a wife and a TaeKwonDo BlackBelt Coach & Trainer.
La Croix:   Advanced degreed in Safety Engineering and Environmental Health Sciences 29 years of combined work experience in Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health 4 years active USMC and Ohio Mational Guard military service during Vietnam and Persian Gulf Wars. 2 - 1 year tours in Iraq; Ramada in 2007 as a Army Contractor and 2008 for the US State Department as a Senior Public Advisor in Sader City and Adhamiyah Iraq. 6 years working for Indian Health Service in Sells, AZ 7 years working for US Army (MEDDAC), Ft. Irwin, CA 2 years Senior Lecturer (part-time) working for California State University, Northridge, CA 8 years private sector employment as a Safety, Health Environmental Consultant for various companies; Ford R& D,Toyota Manufacturing and Westinghouse Remediation
McKeon:   (Did not answer)
Mortensen:   I have 2 degrees from SMU. One in politics and one in Broadcast Journalism. As a TV journalist for 18 years, I've covered every major federal development, election and world event during that time. One of the biggest threats the conservative movement faces is the liberal narrative constantly being preached on TV news. In order to defeat your enemy you need to know your enemy and I know first hand how the media works. I communicate a message very well, i know how to handle the media, and if elected would be one of only a handful of republicans who can successfully flip the script on the mainstream media's biased reports. I also have a long history of working in politics serving for republican congressional representatives, senators and on Presidential campaigns.
Tarkanian:   As a southern Nevada resident for over 40 years who has been a part of this community’s fabric and who has experienced the highs and lows this community has experienced, I will fight for legislation that best serves the hard working Nevadans who live in my district. My extensive public service in numerous nonprofits in southern Nevada, such as, Hope for Prisoners, Team Focus (Fatherless boys), Tarkanian Basketball Academy, Tark Toy Drive, will help me be a great public servant for this community in Washington D.C. My 23 years as a businessman facing the burdens of high taxation and unreasonable regulations has given me the experience to fight for those common sense conservative principles that have helped our country to become the world’s greatest economic force.
